Hello my friend, are you having trouble transporting cement? Transporting cement with a pneumatic dry freight trailer is an excellent option. So let's talk about what is a pneumatic trailerhow it works, design, specifications and more.
Part 1. What is a pneumatic trailer?
Pneumatic trailers are also known as dry freight trailers and pneumatic tank trailers. They have what appear to be many conical hoppers on the bottom. They are used to transport cement, fly ash, lime dust, ore dust, granular alkali and other particles with a diameter of no more than 0.1 mm of dry powdered materials.
The pneumatic trailer is composed of several hoppers, each of which is connected to a pipe at the bottom for unloading. The number of hoppers is determined by the capacity of the pneumatic dry cargo trailerThe larger the capacity of the pneumatic trailer, the greater the number of hoppers.

Part 2. How to operate a pneumatic trailer?
Loading and unloading the pneumatic trailer is a very simple task. Using a pneumatic trailer to transport cement can greatly improve transport efficiency and speed up the project schedule.
2.1 How to load a pneumatic trailer?
- Start by opening the pressure relief valve to release any remaining compressed air in the tank.
- Next, remove the cap from the filler hole and place the filter properly.
- Proceed to load the cement into the tank steadily.
- After filling is complete, carefully clean any cement residue from the seal ring and then securely close the filler hole cap.
- Finally, close the pressure relief valve and inspect other valves, including the discharge butterfly valve, to ensure that they are secure and to prevent any cement leakage during transport.
2.2 How to unload a pneumatic trailer quickly?
- Start by connecting the discharge pipe of the pneumatic trailer. Make sure the sealing ring is closed during this process. Initially, open the inlet and outlet valves of the front and rear air chambers. Then, proceed to close the following valves: pressure relief ball valve, external air source ball valve, secondary air ball valve and discharge butterfly valve.
- Start the engine and air compressor smoothly. Allow the air compressor to reach its rated speed and begin to inflate the cement tank.
- When the pressure rises to 0.15Mpa, open the secondary air ball valve. This action clears the discharge pipe and confirms that it is not clogged. After this step, close the secondary air ball valve.
- When the pressure reaches 0.2Mpa, start the discharge process by opening the discharge butterfly valve.
- Then close the front air chamber, allowing only the rear air chamber to take in air. Monitor the pressure gauge: if the pressure rises, it indicates that discharge has not occurred.
- If the pressure gauge does not indicate a rise, it indicates that the rear chamber has completed discharging. After this, open the front air chamber globe valve, applying the same principle used for the rear air chamber.
- Finally, check that there is no residue in the front and rear air chambers. Once confirmed, turn off the engine and air compressor. Open the pressure relief ball valve, close the unloading butterfly valve, disconnect the unloading quick coupling, remove the hose and place it securely on the vehicle. With these steps completed, the unloading job is successfully completed.
Part 3. Unloading principle of the pneumatic trailer
The pneumatic trailer is discharged using the fluidization principle, the tank has an internal fluidized bed with air holes. Through the air, the powder is fluidized and then discharged.
3.1 What is the principle of fluidization?
When a powder is exposed to a gas at specific levels, it begins to exhibit properties similar to those of a liquid. This phenomenon is known as fluidization. In this process, the powder, a collection of solid and granular materials, is transformed into a liquid-like dynamic state, similar to a liquefaction process.
Gas is introduced from the lower section of a chamber designed to carry solid particles to initiate fluidization. This gas causes the particles to move upward through the bed, filling the voids between the particles.
At low gas velocities, aerodynamic drag on the particles is minimal, allowing the particle bed to remain in a stable, fixed state.
However, as the gas velocity increases, a crucial change occurs. The aerodynamic drag forces begin to oppose the gravitational forces acting on the particles. This opposition causes the bed to expand volumetrically, as the particles begin to separate from each other.
When the gas velocity reaches a critical point, the upward drag forces equal the downward gravitational forces. At this point, the particles achieve a suspended position within the fluid, appearing to float in the middle of the gas.
As the fluid velocity continues to increase beyond this point, the behavior of the particles evolves further, and true fluidization occurs. In this state, the particles flow and interact as a fluid, showing the remarkable transformation that this process generates.
Part 4. How many types of pneumatic trailers are there?
The common pneumatic trailer is divided into four types, W-type pneumatic trailer, V-type cement trailer, tilting cement trailer and cement tanker truck.
Pneumatic trailer differs according to the structure used, and different pneumatic trailers can be used in different situations. Therefore, when we purchase, we should prioritize our use, the place of use, road conditions, local laws and regulations, etc. At the same time, we should decide whether we should buy or rent according to the income.
4.1 Pneumatic trailer type W
The W-type pneumatic trailer consists of several hoppers. For long distance transport and large quantities of cement requiring water storage, the W-type pneumatic trailer is used.
4.2 Type V cement trailer
A V-type cement trailer, also known as a V-type cement trailer, also known as a V-type cement trailer, also known as a V-type cement trailer. cement tank or V-shape silo trailer, is a specialized type of semi-trailer designed to transport bulk powdery materials, specifically cement. This cement trailer is designed to be efficient and safe, making it a preferred choice in the construction and transportation industries.
4.3 Tilting cement trailer
The tilting cement tanker, as its name suggests, is mainly used for gravity unloading, lifting one side of the tank and then unloading it.

The tilting cement tanker has very little waste due to its unique design, but its unloading speed is not so fast, and nowadays, the tilting cement tanker is rare.
4.4 Cement tanker truck
The cement tanker does not need a separate tractor to feed it; the tractor and semitrailer are integrated, but it can only transport a small amount of cement at a time. If you need to transport a large amount of cement, you must use cement trailers.

Part 6. Pneumatic trailer details
6.1 Diesel engine and compressor
The air compressor needs a diesel engine to provide power. Through the air compressor, the inside of the tank will be injected with air, so that the cement inside the tank becomes a fluidized state.
The air compressor is very important for the cement discharge speed; it is the guarantee of the efficiency and reliability of powder material discharge, so you should choose a reliable brand, such as Weichai and others.
6.2 Pneumatic trailer design
The pneumatic trailer design is divided into four types: V type, W type and tilting cement tank.
Although different in appearance, they all serve the same purpose; it is just that in different countries and regions, the type of use is different.
6.3 Pneumatic trailer loading method
While the common way of loading a pneumatic trailer is through the top hole cover, we have invented a self-loading cement tankwhich can also be charged by self-aspiration.
6.4 Pneumatic trailer capacity
Panda Mech supplies 25-120 tonne cement trailers for sale. The minimum load of pneumatic trailer is 25 tons, and the maximum load can be 120 tons. In China, few pneumatic trailer factories can produce 120 tons pneumatic trailers.
It is important to know that when the capacity of the pneumatic truck exceeds 60 tons, the material and design requirement becomes higher, which is one of the advantages of the Panda Mech pneumatic trailer.
6.5 Safety devices
To ensure the safe use of the pneumatic trailer, the pneumatic cement trailer is generally equipped with the following safety devices:
Pressure gaugedetects the internal pressure of the tank, usually when the air compressor is running.
Booster blow-off valve: Used to assist the flow of powder and prevent powdered material from clogging in the pipe opening.
Safety valve: Ensures that the pressure inside the tank is within a safe range; once exceeded, the safety valve will start to operate.
Check valveThe direction of air flow is not fixed; the use of check valves can prevent backflow of compressed air.
6.6 Running-in system
The running gear system includes tires, axles, lugs, leaf springs and suspension. Depending on different road conditions, we will recommend the most cost-effective configuration for you.
