The best dump semi-trailer is the 50-ton dump semi-trailer.which is the most commonly used semi-trailer. The transport load is relatively large, allowing more goods to be transported each time, and the 50-ton 3-axle dump semi-trailer fits the weight limit of most countries.
What is a dump semi-trailer?
Introduction to the dump semi-trailer:
The engine, chassis and cab structure are the same as those of general trucks. The tipping body can be tilted backward or sideways. Rear tippers are more common. Push the piston to tilt the body. A few tip in two directions. High-pressure oil enters the hydraulic lift cylinder through the spool valve and hydraulic hose.
And there is a safety protection plate at the front end of the cab. The hydraulic tilting system is composed of hydraulic pump, spool valve, hydraulic lifting cylinder, control valve and hydraulic hoses.
The motor drives the hydraulic pump through the transmission and PTO device. By controlling the movement of the piston through the control system, the tipping box can stop at any position. The tipping box uses its own gravity and hydraulics to return.
Loading of the dump semi-trailer:
A dump semi-trailer can load from 50 to 120 tons.
The main technical parameter of the tipper trailer is payload and load volume. New or overhauled dump semi-trailer should undergo trial operation, ensuring stable lifting process.
The lubricating oil should be selected correctly according to the regulations and pay attention to the lubrication cycle, and maintain the lifting mechanism strictly according to the schedule. It is strictly forbidden to overload. Dump trailers can save unloading time and labor cost.
Dump semi-trailer design:
Panda Mech dump semi-trailers are noted for their excellent driving and tilting characteristics. The dump semi-trailer drives safely on the road thanks to a low overall center of gravity and a torsion-resistant rigid frame structure.
- Improved driving characteristics due to a low center of gravity and an innovative running-in system
- Optimized for payload due to low unladen weight
- High working speeds through high-performance hydraulics
- Long service life due to low-wear MEILLER tilting bodies
- Available in angular or round tilting body form
Advantage of the dump semi-trailer:
- 1. Robust and optimized for payload.
- 2. Particularly suitable for short routes and frequent tilting.
- 3. Designed for abrasive bulk materials such as gravel, rocks, concrete rubble and aggregates.
- 4. Optimized force transmission in the new chassis frame minimizes crack formation.
- 5. Tailor-made blanks: reinforced tilting body floor in the rear third, as abrasive wear is higher here.
- 6. Optional wear plates for longer service life.
Type of dump semi-trailer
Rear dump semi-trailer
The rear dump semi-trailer also called rear tipping trailer. It unloads goods through the rear door. They are commonly used to transport construction materials, industrial raw materials and other materials.
The rear door of the dump semi-trailer will be locked when loading goods. When goods are unloaded, the rear part is opened and the front part of the trailer is lifted up. The goods will slide down by gravity. Rear dump truck trailers simplify the unloading process.
The bucket of the dump semi trailer is made of thicker high strength steel plate, which can bear the weight of hard materials. In this way, the stronger steel plate can prevent the trailer from being damaged.
The rear tipper is suitable for loads with a large angle of repose. It is important to note that the length of the rear tipper cannot exceed 12 m (40 ft). Any tipping trailer exceeding this length can be dangerous.
Side tipping trailer
The side tipping trailer is another type of dump trailer. This type of dump semi trailer allows you to unload cargo through the side door. It can also be used to transport solid construction materials, such as sand and stones.
The hydraulic cylinder is installed on the other side to unload the dump semi-trailer through the side door. This design is designed to allow side tipping. Sometimes, the construction materials may be too large to pass through the rear door, the unloading area may be small and the side tipper has a smaller angle of repose. Side tippers can help us load larger goods and in greater quantity.
Thick steel plates are also placed in appropriate locations to prevent possible damage to the trailer. Generally, the load capacity of the side tipping trailer is higher than that of the dump semi-trailer.
Type of tilt system
There are two types of tilt systems: direct push type and link rod type.
1. Direct push
This type is commonly used in the market. This simple mechanism can directly push the trailer upward to unload the load.
The tractor tilts the floor of the dump semitrailer to move the trailer backward.
The tow bar is usually hinged to a sliding mechanism, which is arranged under the floor and connected by a single link leading to the wheels, which support a frame usually hinged to the rear of the floor.
When the sliding hinge is slid rearward, the bed-frame-bar structure will change shape as the trailer tilts. You can lock the trailer in the desired position and still tilt the wheels rearward so that the floor occupies a higher level than in the driving position.
The direct thrust mechanism can be located at the front, rear or middle.
2. Link rod type
This complex, indirect mechanism is designed to achieve a more effective push than the direct push type. This type still pushes the trailer up clockwise to unload the load.
In this case, the tow bar is hinged to a sliding mechanism arranged under the bottom plate,
It is connected by several links leading to the wheels of the support frame, which is usually hinged to the rear of the floor, like most dump trucks.
Several movable rods are connected to transfer the movement to the trailer floor, causing it to tilt by the tractor, thus moving the trailer backwards.
Link dump semi-trailer
As the trailer continues to tilt, the arrangement of the connecting rods (frame and bed) is adjusted to be balanced in each position.
These links improve lifting operations by reducing the force required. Ideally, this type of dump trailer can provide uniform force on the truck body and ensure a reduction in thrust.
Most importantly, the universal mechanism improves the efficiency of the hydraulic cylinder. The linkage type assembly can be front or rear facing.
